The Fulbright Program was founded by the US Senator J. William Fulbright in 1946. The FB program is acknowledged and considered as a most prestigious and a highly competitive award around the world. Besides providing educational opportunities, one of the aims of this program is to enhance understanding between the people of the United States and other countries through different measures. I was one of the first students from Gilgit-Baltistan who secured and completed their Phd on a Fulbright Scholarship program.
My Phd dissertation was recognized as outstanding scholarship that contributes to the field of comparative, international, and development education by the Institute for International Studies in Education (IISE) which is a research and training institute based in the School of Education, University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. One of the goals of the IISE is “to serve as a premier research, planning, monitoring and evaluation hub for development projects in cross-cultural and international contexts†(http://iise.pitt.edu/goals).
