The Karakoram International University (KIU) is a federally chartered public-sector university located in the hearts of Karakoram mountains in Gilgit-Baltistan. Since its inception in 2002, the university is striving to provide higher education to the highly talented youth of the region at their doorstep. In order to expand scope and access to tertiary-level professional education, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Planning Commission of Pakistan have recently approved two PC1 Projects entitled "Establishment of the Engineering Faculty, Gilgit Campus" and "Establishment of KIU Sub-campus at Hunza". These steps are in line with the vision of the Government of Pakistan to empower the indigenous youth of Gilgit-Baltistan with knowledge and professional skills to play an effective role in forthcoming developments related with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Through this announcement, the KIU invites dedicated educationists and professionals for careers at these developing facilities.
